I come from a long line of horse owners that go back multiple generations in my family. My great grandparents had a farm in Missouri and owned horses and cattle. My mother’s cousin used to be in parades with her paint horses, and helped my mom buy her first horse Kimberly. Twenty years later that horse became my first show pony. She went around the ring taking care of my mistakes just as long as I pointed her to the correct fence. A couple years later I begged my grandfather to buy me a Thoroughbred off the track. As a kid being obsessed with the movie National Velvet, I thought my horse had to be chestnut with white socks and a white blaze. My grandfather and I went down to the race track, and there we found the color horse I was looking for. We bought JJ, and he became my most talented show horse during my teen years and best friend. I now have my own two beautiful children Beaux Lili and River Makai with my husband Chris; and our ranch we call River Lili Ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley, nestled in wine country. My husband produces a wine label called Four Brothers Wine Co. My daughter Beaux has followed in my footsteps with riding and currently competes in the sport on her pony “Peanut.” My son River at the age of four loves to clean the stalls for his mini horses and feed them carrots. Raising kids among nature and animals is a true gift. River Lili Ranch is a growing destination for weddings/events as well as home to our horses, dogs, and family lifestyle that continues to inspire Gone With The West.
