Gone with the West began as a lifestyle brand in 2019 and was initially started as a capsule collection for Saks 5th Ave. The purpose of the collection was to capture a western trend for the fall 2019 season. Carisa Brambles, the designer of Nightcap Clothing, wanted the "Gone with the West" collection to have a purpose that would go far beyond a trend or a season. The designer used the funds raised from this first collection and rescued her first horse from a Kill Pen in Texas. She named her Palamino rescue horse "Mission" after her mission to end horse slaughter and preserve the American horse and all that it stands for. Mission was dropped at auction as a 2 year old filly and was labeled "crazy." Carisa rescued her just hours before she awaited to ship to Mexico for slaughter. She worked with a specific trainer she calls a "Horse Whisperer" who gained Mission's trust. She spent many hours and months working with this young horse so she could acquire a set of skills and most importantly gain trust for people again. Gone with the West is now a non profit. Any "Gone with the West" styles or items sold on this website go toward saving a horse or taking care of a horse that has already been rescued and resides in the care of the Gone with the West foundation. Gone with the West stands for our American Western Heritage and a way of life. And most importantly a way of treating animals with respect and the love they deserve.
